Jaekelopterus fossils were first discovered in the Formation of Willwerath Klerf Lagerstätte near Prum, Germany. Jaekelopterus is one of the largest arthropods that have been found so far. Jaekelopterus 8.2 meters long and live in freshwater lakes and rivers .. Although exact measurement is not found, scientists have made measurements on the chelicera, which is a claw in front of the head with a function for holding food, and from it later emerged chelicera estimate the real size of the creature. The chelicera itself along 18 inches.
